Old Friends Face Fine for Illegally Gambling on Mahjong
Most people dream that when they reach retirement they can enjoy themselves. Everyone has a different way of having fun and what they considering relaxing. After some people retire they begin a life of relaxation and others begin to travel. Whatever the choice, most people want to be happy and enjoy the time off from working.

Recently seven men were playing mahjong as friends. The game became a little friendlier when they began to place cash bets on the outcome. This of course is illegal in Malaysia. The men plead guilty to playing the game stating they are old and were just playing to pass the time.

Lim Hock Seng, 66, Low Chaw Whay, 48, Teong Liong Tee 59, Goh Lay Keng, 64, Tay Moi Tee and Ma Mong Tiong, both 54, and Lim Ah Yeow, 52 of Singapore were charged with gambling illegally and have been sentenced to paying a RM1,000 fine.

The offence the men are guilty of carries a sentence of no more than a fine of RM5, 000 or no more than six months in jail. If the offenders do not pay the fine they will have to go to jail for one month.
