Over the years many wild and crazy stories have surfaced about players who have suffered illness or death due to long sessions of playing Mahjong. The game is so popular in many parts of the world that marathon gaming sessions take place for twenty four hours or more. Just a few months ago a man died from playing Mahjong for a long period of time. Most recently a man from Shenzhen suffered facial paralysis after playing the game all night long.

The man is fifty years old and was rushed to the hospital after his face had begun to swell and he was having convulsions. The man was sent to the Shenzhen hospital of traditional Chinese medicines. The man told doctors that his symptoms began when he left his home after a night of playing Mahjong.

The man will be paying for that decision as a senior doctor from the hospital has stated that the man will have to endure acupuncture treatment for at least three weeks for his face to get better. Hopefully the man has learned he needs to take a break from gaming so this will not happen again.
