GigaMedia Limited Announced Partnership with XL Games

In an unspecified amount, GigaMedia have also invested in XL Games with Board rights and other strategic rights in regards to the company. XL Games is best known for their games Lineage and Jake Song’s, The Kingdom of the Winds.
GigaMedia licensed by Singapore, is a holding company that develops and licenses online gaming software as well as provide services and support through many subsidiaries They also operate FunTown, an Asian casual games portal in Taiwan. FunTown is the revenue leader in online Mahjong gaming sites.
The game of Mahjong often referred to as Asian Poker is a traditional Asian table game; one billion plus in addressable players. GigaMedia will utilize FunTown Mahjong’s success in licensing software to operators worldwide, especially to international markets.
In a move to bolster its presence in the pan-Asian online entertainment platform, GigaMedia’s goal is in providing an all inclusive service for game developers as well as entertainment providers. GigaMedia President and CEO Thomas Hui stated “Jake Song and his team are superstars—some of the worlds greatest game developers. We are thrilled to partner with such a tremendously talented team and look forward to working closely with them on their new MMORPG, which should rock the world.”
